Biography

Dr. Delshad Botani is a Professor in the Department of Statistics and Informatics at Salahaddin University–Erbil. He brings over 28 years of academic and applied experience in teaching statistical sciences and conducting advanced data analysis for both national and international organizations, including UN-FAO, GfK, FHI360, USAID, and UNICEF.

In addition to his profession as an instructor at Salahaddin University, he currently serves as the President of the SOSS Organization, a specialized institution in research, data analysis, and development consulting. He is also a member of esteemed professional bodies such as ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research) and the Kurdistan Economist Syndicate.

Dr. Botani has led and contributed to more than 150 feasibility studies for governmental and non-governmental institutions, as well as businesses across various sectors, including health, trade, transportation, industry, and agriculture. These studies have supported strategic planning, policy development, and private sector investment across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

He is the author of the Kurdish-language statistical textbook "AMARZANI", widely used in academic and research settings.

Research Interest

Primary research interests include time series analysis, multivariate statistical methods, mathematical statistics, and the application of artificial intelligence in data modeling and decision support systems.

Teaching

Dr. Delshad Botani currently teaches Multivariate Statistics to PhD students, focusing on advanced statistical methods and their application to real-world research and data analysis.

He is supervising two PhD students and one MSc student in the field of Applied Statistics.

At the graduate level (MSc), he previously taught Research Methodology, providing students with foundational skills in research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.

At the undergraduate level, he taught a broad range of subjects, including:
